Reflection on Meeting 1

Date: 11th February                                               Location: PGP Meeting room 5b                                              Time: 12 p.m.

I have to credit my teammates on punctuality and preparedness for the meeting. The quick meeting we had with our tutor on the day preceding our meeting benefited us a lot. We also had concretely drafted the agenda for the meeting and we did follow it closely over the meeting.

Resolving interpersonal conflict

"Conflict is inevitable, but combat is optional"- Max Lucade.

Conflict exists everywhere. Be it teamwork, friendship or a relationship (personal or professional). In the last two posts, we discussed about the need for effective communication and about interpersonal and intercultural communications. In this post I would use an example from my life to bring out the importance of the above, along with the need for resolving conflicts between two people to nurture a healthy relationship between the two.

Observation of team behavior: Intercultural and Interpersonal communication

“If there is any great secret of success in life, it lies in the ability to put yourself in the other person’s place and to see things from his point of view - as well as your own.” - Henry Ford

Intercultural communication is the process of effectively communicating with people across different cultures and nationalities in a way such that it maintains mutual respect and reduces or minimizes misunderstandings. Studying in an international university, where we have students from different countries, following different cultures, it is very important for me to take care of this aspect of communication.
